Our Mission
Over the last 20 years, the American Theatre has increasingly moved away from its core audience – the average, middle-of-the-road, family-oriented, values-based theater lover. Broadway shows have, with a few notable exceptions, abandoned great storytelling that reflects eternal truths about our human condition, the value of every human life, the triumph of good over evil, the ennoblement of moral character through honesty, integrity, purity, forgiveness, and other Judeo-Christian values. Instead, contemporary theatre has taken upon itself the role of Cultural Overlord to attempt both on and off the stage to impose its own twisted values and beliefs that contradict 2000 years of thought and practice by clear-thinking, rational human beings.
Our goal is to counter these destructive ideas and ideologies with new plays and musicals that reflect traditional Judeo-Christian values and rational thought. We will accomplish this by bringing together the brightest and best like-minded talent (writers, composers, directors, producers, and theater owners) to create and produce high-quality, values-based shows that reflect the time-honored Judeo-Christian values that have been the very foundation of the western world and all of its greatest achievements. We believe that the narrative must be changed because our survival as a society depends on it.
Our Team
At the helm of The Stage Right Collective are two passionate musical creators/producers with a long history of success at the regional level.
Christy Stutzman
is an accomplished composer, lyricist, arranger, orchestrator and theater owner with a rich heritage in theater, beginning with her father, who was a composer. Her lifelong experience onstage as well as behind-the-scenes of numerous theatrical productions, combined with her passion for historical truth-telling and traditional values-based stories have grounded her solidly in the soil of reality that, with all of its necessary grit and gravity, can still offer stories filled with hope and redemption. Her current musical “When Calls the Heart – The Musical” is based on Janette Oke’s best-selling novel which is the narrative foundation of the longest running, highest-grossing, and currently #1 show on the Hallmark Channel.
Ed Kee
is a 30-year veteran of the Christian music publishing industry in Nashville and is a songwriter of over 300 songs, arranger, orchestrator, conductor and producer with 2 gold and 1 platinum record, 4 gold and 5 platinum videos and 4 Dove award nominations. Since 2002 he has been licensing Broadway-style musicals through his company CMI SHOWS (Formerly Church Musicals, Inc.) and has licensed performances of his catalog of musicals throughout the U.S., Western Canada and Australia.
